About Bethel Community Christian Church

Our Church

Bethel Community Christian Church is a Bible believing church, in which God’s Holy Word is given full authority. We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, as well as its divine inspiration. We also believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Here at Bethel Community Christian Church, we believe in God’s Holy message, that all who repent of their sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior shall receive eternal life. And that upon accepting this gift of salvation, we acknowledge an inward change, with an outward confession of faith, as we celebrate this through believers’ baptism. We share in Holy Communion together, in remembrance of the sacrifice Jesus made for all who call upon him and believe. We believe in the risen Savior, Jesus Christ is the only pathway to salvation and eternal life. At Bethel Community Christian Church, we believe this gift of salvation is freely offered to all who will hear His message, receive His message, and believe His message of undeserved grace and mercy, and hope. In John 3:17, we are told that Jesus came into the world “not to judge the world, but to save the world through him”. We believe in the Good News of Jesus Christ and in sharing the news of this risen Savior and His message of eternal salvation for all who will “repent of their sins and believe the Good News!” (Mark 1:15).

Our Mission

Bethel Community Christian Church goes forth, boldly proclaiming the loving message of salvation to the world, through the remission of sins and the acceptance of God’s grace through His son Jesus Christ. We humbly serve out God’s calling to share His message of joy and hope by accurately preaching and teaching the full authority of God’s Holy Word. Through our actions, words, and our faith in the Holy Spirit, we hope to encourage all into a meaningful and life changing relationship with God the Father.

Meet Pastor Jerry

Jerry is an ordained and licensed Pastor, who has been called by God to faithfully and humbly serve in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jerry serves at Bethel Community Christian Church as well as at Bradleytown Community Church, our sister church. Jerry, as well as his family, have been called, guided, and blessed on their faith journey throughout life. He states on many occasions how truly blessed he is to have not only one but two wonderful church families to worship with.

Pastor Jerry received the wonderful gift of salvation when he was in his early twenties and began his faith journey alongside his wife Mandy. Together they have grown not only their family, but also their faith in following God’s leading for their family. Jerry, after twenty-plus years of growing, learning, and trusting God has received a life-changing and personal call from God to step into Pastoral ministry. This calling was not only for Jerry, but also for his family as they began to live the life of a Pastor’s family. The Burns family jumped in with both feet, truly trusting God to provide, and He certainly has in so many ways. Praise be to God for always providing for all those who trust in Him.

Jerry has a unique understanding of what it means to live a life without God and without a church family. He says this is why he is so passionate about helping others to find the joy, peace, and hope that can only come from living a life with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jerry’s heartfelt prayer is that you too experience the life changing joy of receiving salvation from Jesus. Also, upon receiving this gift of undeserved grace, you may also begin to start your own faith journey with God at the forefront of it, learning to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matt. 22:37).

Pastor Jerry knows firsthand that God doesn’t quit on us, even if we quit on Him. God’s word, His Spirit, His Son Jesus, and His abundant love are eternal. The Bible tells us in 1st John 4:9 that “we love because He first loved us.” Yes, you can believe it! God loves you even if you don’t love Him, and that will never ever change. Everyone has heard of the most quoted verse in the Bible (John 3:16) in which “God so loved the world: He gave his one and only Son”, but few go on to read the very next verse that helps us to truly see the very essence of Jesus. John 3:17 explains that “God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” My friends, Jesus comes to an already fallen and condemned world to offer undeserved mercy and grace to all who will repent of their sins and accept Him into their lives as Lord and Savior!

Have you heard the Good News of salvation? If not, Pastor Jerry wants to take a moment to pass onto you an invitation. “ I personally want to invite you to come and to receive God’s message of salvation. I’m certain God’s message of grace and mercy will change you forever and will do exactly what it did for me and continues to do for all who receive and believe in Jesus Christ. It will change not only your earthly life but also your eternal life!” So please consider coming to join us any given Sunday as we look forward to seeing you soon.
